With the rising popularity of mechanical keyboards based on switches manufactured in China by Kailh versus being manufactured in Germany by Cherry, I figured it would be a good idea to take a look at one!

Heyyy can I ask something? You know Thermaltake Neptune Elite? Is that switch replaceable?
5 years and I'm still using it.
Although it went through a misteryous phase of keystrokes repeating itself, and it was unusable, storing it in a cardboard box under my bed for 3 years seeems to have fixed it magically
Oh, wow. I didn't realize my keyboard had that long a warranty. I've not needed it thankfully, but with a MFG Date of 2015, I've not got too long left.
OLD LINUSSS!!!
bought this for $40.00 on clearance in 2019. Build quality is a lot better than cheap mechanical RGB keyboards in the market.
Damm
prefer kailh over cherry…. more clicky!
>:O GIVE US MONSTERCAT BACK AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA LIKE THIS SO LUNUS WILL SEE DIS
I have it
Edit: but with brown keys
It isn't cheap… it's high end. Why did I click on this in 2019?
I am still using this keyboard after 5 years and it works perfectly fine
Mine died after one year of use. Two keys double and triple type on their own.
Dudes voice is so annoying
Bought this like 4 years ago. Developed key chatter issues after about 2 years. It's all over the amazon reviews. Definitely don't buy this keyboard. At least they're sending a new keyboard under warranty – upgraded to RGB version too. unfortunately the problem will return eventually…
kailh=KK
mine is red doe…
Which is better. The first one or this one?
You should review the Zalman ZM K900, a really cheap rgb mechanical keyboard
first
Like many i think it was great when it worked but mine started double/triple registering keystrokes just after a year. (no intensive home usage) never gonna buy a kb with kailh switches again!
I'm here 4 years later. I got this keyboard and was excited about it, but after 8 month of use it start malfunctioning. Keys are registered twice and some don't. So i decided to return it. But then this time it works for 3 years.
meh, these days there are $25 mechanical keyboards and $35 actual cherry mx ones
голос как у педика.
Do not buy this keyboard!
I had it for 2 years now. And i went to waranty service with it 2 times now and I just returned it. They gave me my money back because the switches are TRASH !!! The metal part of the switches was coroding and the contacts with te PCB made the switches not work proprely.
I was geting multiple actuations when i was pressing 1 key. This issue appeared after months of using the kwyboard and did appear 2 times in 2 years. I had 2 new keyboards like this and both had the same issue after 9 or 10 months.
SO, do not buy this product. It is bad !! The kale sitches are bad !
2018?
I've used the poseidon Z blue switch for the last 4 years and LOVED it. Under heavy use you should expect faster wear down. I could care less where the switches are made but the chatter effect came a lot sooner than the 5 year warranty TtE claimed. I feel I have gotten my money's worth either way since I failed to fill out the chinese only warranty card (obviously could not read)
I would buy another one if I could find one and canibalize this one for parts.
The clear style kailh switches are actually different in specs to the black housing ones. That's the difference you encountered
PSA: Don't ever get Thermaltake Keyboards. Almost all the switches chatter, was forced to buy a better brand.
I bought this a few years ago after watching this review. Right out of the box it had problems, a key that would register 3 presses with one press. So 'tyyyping' was not a good experience. I had to buy it online because I live in the country with no decent PC stores. So trying to claim warranty was more effort than it was worth. So I replaced the problem key with a cherry. It went ok after that but now I have a number of keys doing the same thing. I'm very disappointed as it did not live up to my expectation, it also cost me $120, (my last keyboard cost $20 and lasted me more than 10 years without problem). I recommend staying well away as it won't give you the life you expect.
i have this keyboard i had to pay $89.99 dollars for it
why is giant gummy bear in the background?
you should come to my country where this is the only mechanical keyboard available
this keyboard started to fail at the 1 year mark. keys double pressing with every key stroke. it started with the L key and has progressed to E,D,F,V,B,N, and M. the space bar randomly wont work, and right shift stopped working. i've removed the keys blew out under and blew out the switches… i loved it when it worked
